Currently using a Lenovo Thinkbook with NixOS. Having lived many years with Slackware and Debian, I started using NixOS to see what’s the fuss about it and stuck with it for a year now as it allows me to keep it lean and tidy and switch environments quickly. Most of my work lives in a tmux session, the graphical environment after many years of fiddling around on my old blog doesn’t mean a lot as long as I have my shortcuts configured for window management.
That’s my trusty Asrock Deskmini 110 with an Intel G4560, 32GB of ram and Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB disk. Another NixOS machine which is used as a qemu hypervisor and virtual machine deployment and state via Terraform soon to be converted to a k3s node managed by terraform as well. That’s where most of what my lab does. Not much about it though, its tiny, relatively cool, totally silent after installing a Noctua NH-L9i , and finally has very low power consumption with everything running.
Will be joining as a k3s node to the above pool along with a rpi4 (see below).
Still in design phase. Till then I’ve been using a Zyxel NAS326.
I will be moving this from hetzner the moment I get a decent connection at home. Runs OpenBSD and the site gets deployed using Makefile and posix shell scripting.
An all around remote machine currently used as a jump host, and struggling as a NVR system with [Haas] and Frigate configured for Google Coral which is used for object detection. Currently deployed with docker compose. Will soon be replaced by a rpi5.
Currently a testbed for a couple of small tinyGo projects I’m exploring when time is available -_(ツ)_/-
