Will be keeping Nixos for personal/work laptop and for a hypervisor for an extended test period, i.e. systems that don't change much. OpenBSD and Alpine Linux for anything else. It's not hard to notice that the current craze is to adapt to anything new and shiny. Thought I should be using Nix for new job but having both a new os to handle (Macos) and nix(that nix-darwin man..) seems to be much for me now. Already got my hands full with CKA currently, preparing for a new semester and the new job.
Fully converted to Nixos flakes for a couple of linux hosts. I'm still not quite convinced but still went full in. Low spec machines suffer while performing a configuration rebuild, consequently more time is required. Currently the sweet spot seems to be 2GBs of memory to avoid ooms. Also Nixos is utilizing lots of network bandwidth and disk space for its derivations(having a separate build machine is not an option). Not having FHS is still somewhat confusing.
